Amy Gaudie – Creative Director
I’m Amy, the founder of Urban Chic, with more than 20 years of hairdressing experience under my belt. I’ve been lucky enough to travel around the globe and be involved in numerous fashion weeks, working with amazing stylists and designers. This allows me to bring all that I have learnt back to the salon to share with my girls.
“I truly believe we have a very unique job in this world, we can improve someone’s day with the simplest of things and I love that I have the ability to do that. My true passion lies in cutting and styling hair with the ability to create, tame and deliver your perfect style each and everyday.”
Jess Kussrow – Senior Stylist
Jess is our senior stylist. She joined the team in 2008 as a budding 1st year apprentice. After so many years, Jess has a loyal following.
“I love seeing the transformation of a client from when they first walk in to when they walk out feeling glamorous after their visit. I love being creative with colour, cuts and styling and that we are always learning no matter how long we have been in this industry. My strengths lie within long hair, whether it’s the perfect balayage, a pop of foils or the ultimate Hollywood blowdry.”
Fiona Henley – Stylist
Fiona qualified in the beginning of 2017 with an eagerness to share all her new skills with an ever growing clientele. She is your go to girl for a short, funky hair cut!
“Hairdressing inspires me to challenge myself to deliver unique and personalized cutting techniques for my male and female clients. I love to create the perfect pixie or the sharpest fade. Combine this with foiling and free hand colour work, and it’s my ideal day in the salon!”
Phoebe Shillington – Emerging Stylist
Phoebe is our 3rd year apprentice on the cusp of qualification that thoroughly enjoys all aspects of colouring in the salon.
“Working in the hairdressing industry excites me because trends are continuing to change which allows me to learn new techniques to share with my clients, keeping them inspired for their next appointment. My passion lies within creative colouring, from bright colours to soft balayage.”
Lucy Hodgen-Rover – Next Generation
Lucy is our school based apprentice who has a keen eye for picking up skills quickly.
“I love hairdressing because my days are always different in the salon. I enjoy meeting new people and enhancing their experience. My favourite thing to do is braiding and upstyling.”
